So, Neil, Mike and I iron out the details of our syndicate which basically comes down to shared bankrolls. Any profit or loss we make is evened out at the end of the month with the only variations being live events which we've qualified for. Whoever makes a live event takes 50% of what they make with the other two receiving 25% each. Basically we're looking to turn over enough to be profitable whilst playing as many satellites as we can to get a big cash scoop.
Anyway, my new laptop arrived on Monday as stated but I got off to a bit of a slow start poker wise, two main problems with it. One; I was out Sunday for a meal and then went to the casino and got decently drunk and gambled away some of my profit. There was no poker on, just casino games which sucked. Two; I installed World of Warcraft.
I don't know what you know about World of Warcraft (WoW) but I've been putting off playng it because I didn't like the look of it and it's life consuming by all accounts. I can now tell you it looks pretty good and it is life consuming. Luckily I only bought the 14 day trial so I'll only have another week of playing. I don't really have time to be playing it and resent paying £10 a month, so more serious poker to come. Besides which I've got Rise of Legends, Neverwinter Nights 2 and Dawn of War expansions to play.
Anyway, things got off to a relatively flying start with Neil scooping a handful of satellites, but I'll wait for his report to tell that exactly. Mike never really played anything until I got him to play in the Punter's Lounge $2 freeze out for me. It started at 8pm on Thursday and I don't finish work until 9:30pm.
So Mike goes out at 9pm because he has to pick up the Mrs. and messages me over MSN saying he's away out. So I rush home and get the pc fired up for 9:45 and get logged in. I'm confronted by 2 windows popping up, one I'm heads up in and the other's a full table. I have no idea what's going on. Anyway MSN pops up with Neil and Mike in it going "Baz!". Turns out Mike was HU in a satellite to the $5k added and was in another satellite to the $20k gtd.
Like I say I have no idea what's happening and Neil and Mike are shouting at me so I turn off Messenger and try and calm down. Anyway, I get nowhere and they shout at me some more. Regardless I finished 32nd or so in the PL game and am about £22 down.
I play a couple of $10 rebuy games but get nowhere so give up. Grind out a level in WoW. Finish the day about £50 down. Not the most inspiring start from my side of the team.

Getting behind again...
I've not had a pc for the last week or so as both my laptops broke and my desktop (whilst decent specs) has never worked; randomly turns itself on and off, almost invariably in the middle of a big hand. As an aside my dad's laptop screen went this week as well and he's been using my monitor so I've not even ben able to play my 360 AND our widescreen tv in the living room stopped working!!!
So, for most of this week I've been unable to play much poker, awwwww. But my new laptop arrives on Monday (tomorrow) and I'll be back on it with a vengeance. Anyway, I cashed out £450 to leave me with bout £145 in my bankroll.
So, I was over at my cousin Paddy's and played a $20 + $2 freezeout for him, because I'm awesome. Anyway busted out 81/87 or something with QQ vs 56d, nightmare.
I logged in as myself after that and played a bit of cash and a couple of tourneys, I think I finished about $25 down. Stayed up til 6am playing as well.
So this Saturday I was planning on heading out to Dundee for a bit of drinking. It's my birthday on Thursday but I have 4 days off this weekend, so was going to use it to celebrate. Anyway, nobody got back to me about a place to crash and I called it off.
In the meantime I moved my pc and played around with it a bit and got it fairly stable so thought I'd play a little bit of cash.
I played a $0.10/$0.20 table and a $0.25/$0.50 table. I figured I'd play cash so if I lost it'd just be a few bucks for that hand. Anyway after hours of grinding I was about $10 and $30 up repectively and cahed out.
Moved on to tournaments with varying success, but eventually was about £20-£25 up overall, about £165-£170.
My pc hadn't crashed at all during this time so I decided it'd be okay to play a MTT as usual. I played the $1, $50 added, rebuy and basically dropped $5. I went out 10th from a 50-ish field, bad beat. I never really took extensive notes so can't say exactly what happened, but I played well again and just got a bit unlucky.
Anyway, the next decent tourney way the $20, rebuy with $1000 added.
$20 + $2 MTT, with $1000 added. Players -45. Final prize pool $3,160. Positions paid - 5. 1st is $1264 - 5th is $252.80.

I get AA on the SB and limp. He pushes, I call, he has K8, I scoop.

Between us we're about £5000 up for the last month to 5 weeks and hopefully can continue to repeat the feat.

Millions of Aussies!
So after my storming victory in the $5k added I had my own final to play. Win a seat to Pokernews' Aussie Millions. Confidence was high and so, it began.
$100 + $9 MTT, with $3000 added: Winner also get's 10 day trip to Australia and a chance at $1m. Players -128. Final prize pool $15,800: plus package. Positions paid - 18. 1st is $4740: and seat - 18th is $173.80
Blinds 10/20. First hand and I'm MP with 35o. So I fold. Duh.
MP with 44, I limp but the SB raises to 80 so I fold. Down to 1480.
EP with 78h and I have a look. Three players and a pot of 70. Flop 6TA, one heart. Checked. Turn 7. Checked. River 7, BB bets 80 I raise to 200 and get called. He had J7c, bastard. Down to 1260.
UTG with KK, I raise to 80 get a caller. Flop 38J, I bet 100, he calls. Turn Q. I bet 120 he calls. River J. I fear the worst and we both check, but I scoop. Up to 1570.
BB A6c and I call a 60 raise. Flop 559, with two diamonds. I fold to a bet. Down to 1510.
SB J4, I fold.
Blinds 15/30. I'm UTG with JQ, but fold.
Get nowhere with my next two blinds. But on the button I get JJ. There's a bet of 80 before me and I raise to 250. No callers. Up to 1565.

The button pushes and it folds to me. I think for a bit about what sort of hands he might have and put him on a draw. I call, he flips KQc. Hmm, not so good for me about 45% to win. Turn's a blank, up to about 70% to win. River Q. Arse. Totally crippled down to 205.
I make it to the next blind level pushing where I can and stealing but eventually go out with JQ up against A6h.
I was gutted hoping I was going to run hot all night and scoop again but it wasn't to be. Don't really understand the push with a draw, he needs to hit to win and must put me on a hand since I called a preflop raise and now put a bet in myself, but still, ce la vie.

So Neil's away to the pub and has won a seat in the $5k added $100+$9 tourney starting at 8pm. So he asked me to play for him.
Last week I won a seat but instead of buying me in Mansion just gave me the money, which I proceeded to lose in a cash game so couldn't play. Neil had 30% of me in that tourney so I was owe him about $35. Anyway, this week he won and I had 30% but we just called it evens.
Neil offered me 10% to play for him, you know because he's a tight cunt. I was fairly sure I wouldn't cash but gave myself something to play for 10% to cash, 20% if I got 2nd-3rd, 25% for 1st, which he agreed to.
I was horrendously bored at work today and couldn't be bothered actually doing any so I'd created some sheets on which to document my tournament playing. You may find the information provided a little more in depth than previously blogged about.

Comes round to my BB and I have QJs, I've seen worse. There's a raise to 60 in MP but I call anyway. Three players see the flop and there's 250 in the pot. Flop is 997 and I fold to another 60 bet.
Next hand is my SB and I get ATs, again I've seen worse. I get in for a limp with another three players. Flop 247 and I fold for a 60 bet. Down to 1400.
On the CO I get TJ and limp. Four players so 80 in the pot. Flop 9TA, all diamonds. Bet of 60 flung out and I fold. Down to 1380.
Blinds 15/30. Comes round to my BB and I am dealt J2o there's a min raise and I call in a moment of madness. Pot is 195 with 3 players in. Flop comes 58K. Checks round. Turn is a Q. Checks round. River is a 4. A guy puts in a pot bet and I fold.
Next hand and I get 66 on the SB. Folds to me and I bet pot which is to 90. BB calls. Flop 57K, 2 clubs. I put in a continuation bet of 90 and get called. Pot is 360. Turn is a 6, scoop. I bet out 240, if he's chasing a draw he'll pay, but he folds. I back up to exactly evens on 1500.
A5d on the CO but I fold to a 120 raise.
MP I get the pocket rockets, allriiight. I raise to 120 and get reraised by a limper to 430. Could be good. I push and he calls. Flop 5TK. Turn 9. River 5. We both have AA, arse. Get some limp money and am up to 1597.
MP and I limp with A4h only to see the pot raised to 150 and fold. Down to 1567.
MP still and get T9c so limp in again. Five player and 150 pot. Flop 24Q, two hearts. Fold to a 120 bet. Down to 1537.
Blinds 25/50. EP and I get TJd I limp but fold to a raise of 200.
BB 62 and no raise. Four players so 200 pot. Flop 389. A bet of50 is put out so I fold. Down to 1487.
SB T3h and there's a push for 438, so I fold.
MP AT and I fold. Should I be playing this at this stage? Answers on a postcard.
BB Q7o and it's just me vs SB. Flop 2JQ. SB bets out 50, I raise to 200 and he folds. Up to 1562.
Blinds 50/100. SB with 24d. Limp in. Flop 256 but I fold to a bet.

MP I get K4h and fold to no raise.
MP I get 87 and fold to no raise. I mention these because each of them, to my mind, had a decision on how to play them this early on. Most were fairly automatic as my stack is only 15x the BB, but had I been ahead some may have been playable and if they are playable with more chips then it may be worth playing them aggresively with fewer.
BB I get 74h, no raise. Three players and a pot of 350. Flop 35J, with one heart. I fold to a 400 bet.
SB Q4c and fold to no raise.
BU I get 56o and fold to no raise.
MP I get 77 and fold to a push of 915. I thought about this for ages but didn't want to cripple myself on a 50/50 at best.
EP 89h and fold to no raise.
Blinds 75/150. UTG with KK, naaaice. I limp because the BB is small stacked and should push to no action as per his previous moves. There's a raise MP to 600 all in and a call.BB folds, I push and the guy who originally called types into the chat box "My hand is really good, I can't let it go" before turning over AJ, eh, okay. Anyway, AT vs AJ vs my KK. No aces, scoop scoop. Up to 4311.
BB next and get As7, no raising. Flop 4TJ, two spades. Checks. Turn 8s. I bet 150 and everyone folds. Up to 4702.
SB with AT and there's an all in for 790, decide I don't have to stand up to it and fold.
CO with AJ and I raise pot to 525. There's an all in for about 2k and I end up deciding to call. He turns over 99, I couldn't have asked for much better especially with the flop coming J high with two spades. Followed by a turn spade. Followed by a river spade. 9s wins :( Arse.
MP and get 22 I limp. Three players and a pot of 480. Flop 579. Checks. Turn 3. Checks. River T checks. A paired 3 from the BB takes it, arse. Down to 1937.
I get moved tables and onto the blinds.
BB and I have J9h, there's a min raise and I call. Three players, 900 pot. Flop 27K, disappointing. I fold to a bet.
SB and I look at K7. Again a min raise but this time I fold. Down to 1562.
Break time and Neil call's me from the pub, I tell about my four-to-a-flush loss and that I'm currently bottom five :( I assure him I'll win none the less and he hopes I do, lol. Average stack is 2.5x more than mine.

LP and I have QJd and limp, one of the blinds raises to 1800 and I fold.
MP QT, which isn't a hand so I fold.
EP I get 66, make a stand with a push :s But no callers, table all quite low stacked compared to blinds (as in all Mansion tourneys really) so only premium hands really stand up to that big a push. Up to 1962.
Get through the blinds without seeing a flop, down to 1662.
BB again before I play and I get TT, I push and everyone folds. Up to 2062.
SB with KJ and I fold to a 600 raise.
MP with 78h and I fold to no raise.
MP with KQ and I push get called by JJ. Flop 247, cry cry. Turn K, yay! River 9, scoop. Up to 4224.
MP TJh I limp and there's a raise to 800, an all in and a call before coming back to me. I fold tout suite.
EP with 33 and I limp. Two players see a flop. Flop 49K, checks. Turn 5. I bet 400 and get called. I now fear the worst so check the river which is a T and am pleasantly surprised to be facing AQ. Up to 4804.
BB with K3 and there's a min raise from the button. I call. Flop 5AQ with two spades. I fold to a 200 bet.
SB and I get those magic bullets again. I raise to 600 when it comes round and get a push from the BB. I call and am up against QTc. Flop 99A with two clubs, but who cares. Turn's a T. River another A!!! QUADS!!! Scoop scoop, up to 6677.

Blinds 100/200, ante 10. CO wiht KJh, looks nice enough so I raise to 800. Nobody wants to play so up to 7037.

So Neil's away to the pub and has won a seat in the $5k added $100+$9 tourney starting at 8pm. So he asked me to play for him.
Last week I won a seat but instead of buying me in Mansion just gave me the money, which I proceeded to lose in a cash game so couldn't play. Neil had 30% of me in that tourney so I was owe him about $35. Anyway, this week he won and I had 30% but we just called it evens.
Neil offered me 10% to play for him, you know because he's a tight cunt. I was fairly sure I wouldn't cash but gave myself something to play for 10% to cash, 20% if I got 2nd-3rd, 25% for 1st, which he agreed to.
I was horrendously bored at work today and couldn't be bothered actually doing any so I'd created some sheets on which to document my tournament playing. You may find the information provided a little more in depth than previously blogged about.
$100 + $9 MTT, with $5000 added. Players -87. Final prize pool $13,700. Positions paid - 9. 1st is $4110 - 9th is $342.50
Blinds 10/20. First hand I get 45h in MP. I get in for a limp. Five players so 100 in the pot. Nothing comes down to help and I fold to a bet.
Comes round to my BB and I have QJs, I've seen worse. There's a raise to 60 in MP but I call anyway. Three players see the flop and there's 250 in the pot. Flop is 997 and I fold to another 60 bet.
Next hand is my SB and I get ATs, again I've seen worse. I get in for a limp with another three players. Flop 247 and I fold for a 60 bet. Down to 1400.
On the CO I get TJ and limp. Four players so 80 in the pot. Flop 9TA, all diamonds. Bet of 60 flung out and I fold. Down to 1380.
Blinds 15/30. Comes round to my BB and I am dealt J2o there's a min raise and I call in a moment of madness. Pot is 195 with 3 players in. Flop comes 58K. Checks round. Turn is a Q. Checks round. River is a 4. A guy puts in a pot bet and I fold.
Next hand and I get 66 on the SB. Folds to me and I bet pot which is to 90. BB calls. Flop 57K, 2 clubs. I put in a continuation bet of 90 and get called. Pot is 360. Turn is a 6, scoop. I bet out 240, if he's chasing a draw he'll pay, but he folds. I back up to exactly evens on 1500.
A5d on the CO but I fold to a 120 raise.
MP I get the pocket rockets, allriiight. I raise to 120 and get reraised by a limper to 430. Could be good. I push and he calls. Flop 5TK. Turn 9. River 5. We both have AA, arse. Get some limp money and am up to 1597.
MP and I limp with A4h only to see the pot raised to 150 and fold. Down to 1567.
MP still and get T9c so limp in again. Five player and 150 pot. Flop 24Q, two hearts. Fold to a 120 bet. Down to 1537.

Most were fairly automatic as my stack is only 15x the BB, but had I been ahead some may have been playable and if they are playable with more chips then it may be worth playing them aggresively with fewer.

Blinds 50/100. I get 25d on the SB very next hand, but decide to ditch it. Flop 347, with the 3 and 4 being diamonds, doh! Turn's the Kd and the winner of the pot has 78 :( At this point a few of the stacks are starting to push a lot.
Get a mighty 35o on the BB and don't have to put any more in for a flop. Flop 29J with two diamonds and I get out quick to a bet. Down to 5370.
I fold my SB of Q2o.
Blinds 75/150. Comes to my BB again, 84o, yay!/sarcasm. Flop 59J, checks. Turn Q and I'm out to a bet.
I fold my SB of J5o and am down to 5095.
Again BB before I'm involved with K9o, 3 players see a flop. Flop 34Q and I fold to a bet. Down to 4945.
SB 23h and I fold to no raise. Arse. Flop 8KA, all hearts. Finish with 4870 and the end of the hour and I top up.
Sit 2/6 going after the rebuys with the stacks looking like:- 8570, 6370(me), 4050, 3880, 2915 and 1215.
Blinds 100/200. BB before I'm involved with 67s but I fold to a 2xBB raise.
SB gives me 62o which I fold. Down to 6070.
MP get 9Td so mix it up a bit and limp. Flop TJA, with one diamond, checks to me, I bet 400 but get raised so fold. Down to 5470.
BB with 93 and see a flop for free. Flop 39T, scooop. Checks all round. Turn Q and I bet pot, no callers. Up to 5770.
MP and I look down at JJ, I raise 3xBB and the SB pushes. Folds to me, I think I'm ahead and call. He turns up TT, scooop. No help and I'm up into first with 10500. Five players left.
Very next hand I get AQ and raise 3xBB. Nobody wants to play so I get another 300 for free.
BB with 67 and a no expense flop. Flop comes 564. I check, a guy bets 400 I min raise which sets him in and he turns over some rubbish I never even thought to write down, K3, or 35 or something. Turn J. River T, scoop scoop, down to four players and I have 12315.
SB and I have AJ, but whilst I'm thinking about how much to raise some guy goes all in, I think then fold. No need to risk 3k on that hand.
I see a flop with TJ on the button. Flop 36A, cheerio.
Play a few more blinds but get nowhere. Stacks are about 12k(me), 9k, 3k and 3k.
Blinds 100/200, 10 ante. So I make a few moves here and there with an A or a couple face cards but no real action. Eventually the larger of the smaller stacks takes out the smallest stack, just what I didn't need. Threeway stacks look like 13k(me), 10k, 4k.
I'm on the button with JJ and raise accordingly. The small stack who's BB pushes and I call. he has QQ, arse. So now we're all about even.
I get ATs and raise to 1200 get the now big stack calling. Flop 6TJ. He checks, so I reckon if he has the J he would have had to bet to find out where he was. So I decide to push thinking I'm ahead. He calls. With J6. Cunt.
What sort of hand that puts out a preflop raise are you beating with J6?!?! Nightmare bubble for me, was not happy.

Blinds 10/20. Button get KQh. Limp in with 6 players. Flop QKA, two spades. Checks round to me, I overbet the pot 200 into 120. One caller. Turn's nothing scary, checks to me. I bet 250 into 520, guy folds. I'm up to 1770.
Blinds 10/20. On the cutoff get KQ again. 4 players. Flop TJA, two clubs. Checks to me again, I overbet 120 into 90 hoping somebody's going to take it for a bluff this time, but no callers. Up to 1840. At this point I decide to tighten up.

Decide to play another heads up game but not document it quite so thoroughly as it was really slowing down my game. Sometimes a split second bet or raise is needed to push the other guy off the pot and by the time I've written down the flop or that I seem hesitant. So play a $20 HU.
$20 + $1, HU STT. 1st is $40.
I take an early lead for a couple hundred and get A5s. I raise pot preflop and get called. Flop 68A, one spade. I bet half pot and am called. Turn Qs. I bet just over half pot for 560 and am called. River is a low spade. I think for a bit wondering if the push makes it look like I've been trying to buy the pot and do so just before the timer kicks in and get called. He has K8s and I scoop.
Finish 1st. Net total +$19.
Think I'll have another go at that.

The Beginning (or £100 plus about $1.16 in change)
Okay, so I've been playing Mansion poker recently with limited success, mostly limited by my $250 cash game losses against my decent showings in MTTs. So I cashed out down to £100 and set about making a journal in earnest about my poker playing.
$1 rapid rebuy MTT, with $50 added.
Players -81. Final prize pool $276. Positions paid - 9. 1st is $82.80 - 9th is $6.90.
Rebuy immediately and am at 3000.

Down to last 3. Get 85c on the button. Limp and call a small raise from the BB. Flop come JcXc5, guy pushes, I call thinking he's missed but he has TT. No more help for me.

Never took extensive notes though played quite well, only time my stack was at risk was early-ish with 66 to AK. My 66 held up and I netted 3585 for my worries.
Played uber tight the rest of the way until 4 way when there was a battle between all of us, eventually took it to 3 way with 1 stack really short and showing no aggresion. Put him out with a reraise by me with nothing, which he called and the other guy took him out when he turned the house.
Finished with seat. Net total for event TBC, currently +$87.
