Decided to see if the cards were still running as cold as last night and joined a $5 STT.

$5 + $0.50, 9 man, STT. 1st is $22.50, 2nd is $13.50, 3rd is $9.

Blinds 10/20. I start on the BB with K9. Four players. Flop 267 and I fold to a bet on the button.
Blinds 10/20. Get T4c on the SB but fold to a 3xBB raise.
Blinds 10/20. Button get KQh. Limp in with 6 players. Flop QKA, two spades. Checks round to me, I overbet the pot 200 into 120. One caller. Turn's nothing scary, checks to me. I bet 250 into 520, guy folds. I'm up to 1770.
Blinds 10/20. On the cutoff get KQ again. 4 players. Flop TJA, two clubs. Checks to me again, I overbet 120 into 90 hoping somebody's going to take it for a bluff this time, but no callers. Up to 1840. At this point I decide to tighten up.

Three hands later...

Blinds 10/20. Mid position and aI get Q3s and decide to ride my luck. Flop 9KK, one spade. Checks round. Turn 5s. Pot bet before me presume he has the K and is scared of the flush but I fold. 1 caller. River T. Down to 1820.
Blinds 15/30. In utg with A6h. Four players involved. Flop 49Q, one heart. I fold to a pot bet on the button. Down to 1820.
Blinds 15/30. I have Q8. 5 players in. Flop 778. I come out swinging with 90, one caller, guy after min raises. I fold. Original caller sees the bet. Turn's a 2. Raiser pushes, no river. Down to 1670.
Blinds 15/30. Get J2s on the SB. 4 players in. Flop 2TA and I fold to a bet. Down to 1640.
Blinds 15/30. On the cutoff with 55. Min raise from the button 2 callers and me. Flop 469 and I fold to a pot bet. Down to 1580.
Blinds 15/30. I limp in early position with K3s. Five players in. Flop 9JJ, one spade, but fold to min bet.
Blinds 25/50. Get 74 on the BB. Fold to a 5.5xBB raise. Down to 1500.
Blinds 25/50. Q2 on the SB. 4 players in so I limp. Flop 78T, all hearts. Fold to a bet. Down to 1450.
Blinds 25/50. I get AJ on the cutoff. I raise pot to 225. BB who's got the biggest stack and a shorter stack guy in EP call. Flop 69K. Checks to me. I bet 710 which is the SB stack. BB sets me in. Short stack folds. I'd be left with 500 and have seen him set a guy in off the flop with who bet into him with A8 that hadn't paired. The guy called with a bare K likes, but that's beside the point. Anyway, I figured that even if I wasn't ahead I'd still have an A to hit and very possibly the J. So I called. He had KJ and no help for me.

Finish 7th. Net result -$5.50.

Anyway, realised that was terrible play and decided to try my hand at heads up games.

$10 + $0.50, HU STT. 1st is $20.

Blind level - 10/20. BB - and get A7. SB limps and I decide to see how the first hand plays out. I avoid raising first hand without a premium hand and will limp with anything on the SB. Anyway, flop 5QK. Checks. 8 Turn. I bet 20, guy folds.
SB - 37s and limp in. Flop 235, one spade. I fold to a 40 bet.
BB - 46, no raise. Flop 3QK. Turn A. River T. I fold to a 20 bet.
SB - A8 I raise pot and get called. Flop 4QK. Checked. Turn Q. Checked. River J. Checked. Pot split with his A5.
BB - 95s, no raise. 24J, one spade, two diamonds. Fold to a bet.
SB - 39s and limp in. Flop 67K. Checked. Turn 3. I bet 20 and am called. River J. I fold to a bet. Down to 1420.
BB - 85s, no raise. Flop 4QK. Checked. Turn 6. Checked. River 7. I bet pot and he folds.
SB - 69c, limp. Flop 5QK, one club. Checked. Turn 3. Checked. River J. Checked, I scoop vs 86.
BB - QT and I decide to see the flop first. Flop TKA, 2 spades and I have Qs. Checked. Turn a Q. bet pot and the guy folded.
SB - T3 and I fold.
BB - T5, no raise. Flop JQK, all clubs. I have Tc and bet pot, guy folds.
SB - Q6, limp. Flop 25J. Checked. Turn Q. I bet pot and get min raised, I call. River an A and guy bets 100. I call for info and he shows Q5 for two pair.
BB - 93, no raise. Flop 266. Checked. Tun 4. Checked. River 2. Checked. He has a Q.
SB - 26 and I fold.
BB - 95, no raise but he takes a looong time calling which he hasn't done before. Flop 28T. Checked. Turn T. Checked. River 9 giving a third heart. Checked with me taking the pot.
SB - T3 and I fold.
BB - K4, I raise pot and am called. Flop 3AA. I bet 60 and get called. Turn 5. I bet 40 and am min raised, call to get lucky (clearly bad poker). River a 4 and we both check. He has 77.
Blind level - 15/30. SB - 85 and I limp, would have folded had the blinds not just gone up but don't want to give the impression this is a blind level that matters. Flop 2KA. Checked. Turn 5. I bet 30 and get called. River 2, I check and call a 30 bet. He shows a K. Down to 980.
BB - 56 and I fold to a raise.
SB - A4 and I put in a pot raise, guy folds. Still at 980.
BB - J5, no raise. Flop248, all hearts, I have Jh. Checked. Turn 5. I bet 30 and get called. River 9. I bet 30 and guy folds. Up to 1040.
SB - J3, I fold.
BB - T8, no raise. Flop 269. Checked. Turn J. I bet pot with double gut shot and get called. River K. Checked. I win, so had no idea what he was calling with, assume 78 or maybe as little as 45. Up to 1115.
SB - A8c, I bet pot and am called. Flop 3JA, two diamonds. I bet 90 and am called. Turn 9h. Checks to me and I bet 150 and am called. River T. Checked to me I push and am called with AT.

Finish second place again in these two man tournaments. Second place, second place, second place, disqualified for urinating on the table, second place! Net result -$11.

Decide to play another heads up game but not document it quite so thoroughly as it was really slowing down my game. Sometimes a split second bet or raise is needed to push the other guy off the pot and by the time I've written down the flop or that I seem hesitant. So play a $20 HU.

$20 + $1, HU STT. 1st is $40.

I take an early lead for a couple hundred and get A5s. I raise pot preflop and get called. Flop 68A, one spade. I bet half pot and am called. Turn Qs. I bet just over half pot for 560 and am called. River is a low spade. I think for a bit wondering if the push makes it look like I've been trying to buy the pot and do so just before the timer kicks in and get called. He has K8s and I scoop.

Finish 1st. Net total +$19.

Think I'll have another go at that.

$20 + $1, HU STT. 1st is $40.

Again not taking extensive notes but there wasn't any big hands until the last but I was about 400 ahead, 1700 plays 1300. Blinds are up to 25/50. I limp with 67 and there's no raise. Flop comes 467, he bets 100, I raise to 400 he pushes and I call. He shows A7h and doesn't improve.

Finish 1st. Net total +$19.
